Sandro Sampaio

Head Coach
Born and raised in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Sandro trained Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since the age of 5 with the famous Carlson Gracie Team in Copacabana. Sandro received his black belt from Paulo Filho in 2005 and most recently his 5th degree black belt from Master Carlson Gracie Jr. He has experience in MMA, BJJ and submission tournaments. Sandro’s specialties include self defense, grappling, MMA, personal and conditional training.

Brett Stephens

Brett Stephens is an Oklahoma State Trooper who is currently assigned to the U.S. Marshall Fugitive Task Force and OHP Tactical Team. He began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2007, and now specializes in law enforcement defensive tactics and firearms instruction. He has trained under Sandro Sampaio since 2017, and earned his brown belt in 2023. Brett enjoys training BJJ with his two children and wife.

Austin Head

Austin Head is a college student looking to become a High School teacher. He started his BJJ journey in 2019 and is currently a Purple belt under Professor Sandro Sampaio. Austin spends most of his time with his family and loves to go on long distance runs and read as well as hangout with his Jiu Jitsu family inside and outside of the academy.

Tank McCarrell

Tank McCarrell, a former Division I wrestler, began his Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2012 under Sandro Sampaio. Tank enjoys physical fitness, grappling and striking martial arts, and several hobbies that act as personal development activities and mental health upkeep. Tank is a psychotherapist by profession and loves spending time with his family and helping others.
